In Thorbardin's cavities, a sword, the masterpiece of a renowned blacksmith, is made. When the wonderful blade is born of fire, it is touched by Reorx’s grace. The Storm Blade will be more than the old blacksmith expected: a king sword that will break the deadlocked power struggle within the Council of Danes. When the noble sword is stolen, Hammer Stanach, the blacksmith's valet, vows to get it back. To fulfill his vow, he must leave the much-loved Thorbardin, and in a war-torn, betrayal-filled world, he must search for the sword that carries the touch of God and is made for the glory of a dance.
