  • Jan van den Boomen: Black waters

We are taken to the southern hemisphere of Ynev by the volume’s three loose-threaded stories, in which hitherto little or no unknown sites in the South come to life, where the actions of the protagonists are determined by ancient practices, sins, and weddings. How can they get rid of - and get rid of - the shackles of aquiras, family strife, or honor imposed on them, and if there is a solution for them, for whom or for whom? The fourth, title-short novel in the volume takes the reader to the North; although it also stands out as a stand-alone story, it actually tells a seamless thread from the author’s novel Tears of Morgena.
