War or tradition? Victory or peace? "I know what you want, for the same thing I do: you want peace and triumph. But can we get both at once?" - These are the words of Prince Velias. There is only one culture in which these questions can be raised, and its foundations are jeopardized when Moonlight Erragal, the lord of the Twin Mountains, the adopted brother of Velias, puts the elves before a choice. His weapon of war, the Hundred Deaths, alienated from the Aquirs, is only the trigger, but not the motive, of the campaign that leads to the most devastating battles of the Second Racial Wars - by which Erragal once and for all sets the path for his people, if necessary, even against his brother.
The first novel in John J. Sherwood’s new story takes place in the valley of Heroes, Ynev’s heroic past, in an era when elves and aquirs fought on celestial ships and dragon backs for an entire continent.
